About Parkside
We are a privately owned and operated company. The center has been designed to provide the highest quality childcare and early childhood programs for families in the greater Bangor area. We believe children learn best through play. Our approach to providing this experience has a large focus on outside play. Infants through preschoolers will have the opportunity to play outside in their natural playgrounds. We also believe that children learn best through what interests them, therefore our program doesn’t follow a specific curriculum but instead we focus on what interests each child and provides opportunity to continue to grow that interest. In addition to experiences for your child, our location is a secured building with key code access for our Parkside families. The center is equipped with spacious classrooms and plenty of natural lighting, a professional Early Childhood teaching staff, and natural playground.
Our Staff
All of our staff are CPR and first aid certified. We strive to provide the highest quality of care; this begins with our teachers. We have built a team of teachers, which many of have been part of our team for many years. Our leadership team includes our infant and toddler manager, Lynna, who has been here since 2009 and our Office Manager, Allison has been here since 2014. Miss Bridgette is our Assistant Manager. Bridgette joined our team in 2016 as an Assistant Teacher and moved into a Lead Teacher role in 2017. Our managers provide support in our classrooms, train our teachers and oversee the educational services of our program. We have consistent teams in our classrooms to help provide continuity; it is our goal for parents to see their child’s teacher at drop-off and pick-up times.
Our Center
Our priority is always the safety of the children in our program. We accomplish this by having a locked system in place at the entrance of our building. All of the equipment in our building is up to date and code. For the safety of the kids in our program, we have a professional cleaning service who comes in at the end of our business day. Our program is a “shoe free” program where children can safely play on our floors and know that foreign materials will not be in our play areas. We have a large playground that offers a variety of experiences for children to creatively play in including climbers, a mud kitchen, art easel, swings and tricycles. Children have the opportunity to play for longer periods of time outside.
